A high morbility case of Bovine Nasal Granuloma (BNG) in a Jersey herd is described. The most prominent lesions are located in the anterior part of the nasal cavity, which are highly correlated to the cases of BNG described mainly by Australian and New Zealand authors. These lesions appeared macroscopically as bilateral nodular proliferations of the nasal mucosa, congestion, nasal mucous membranes and abundant mucous and mucopurulent exuste. Histologically large and extensive lesions of hyperplasia and squamous metaplasia of the epithalium, with heavy infiltration of eosinophils in the epithelium and in the lamina propia and a lot of leukocytes in the epithelium of the surface and of the glands. IBR virus was isolated from nasal swabs. The clinical and histological picture speaks in favour of a hypenensivity type of reaction. The possible role of the IBR virus found in this case is discussed.
