Abstract

This paper describes the confirmation of the diagnosis of a Fipronil-resistant field population. Nine animals of the Hereford breed with an average weight of 150 kg from a tick-free breeding herd and without previous exposure to ticks were used. The ticks studied with suspected Fipronil resistance showed significantly different behaviour in the stable test and in their reproductive behaviour than that presented by the sensitive reference strain.
