Abstract

Three of 107 ewes from 7 farms of 6 counties of Uruguay had antibody titers indicative of infection with Chlamydia psittaci, when their sera were tested with the ELISA reaction for chlamydiosis. Enzotic abortion of ewes (EAE) is frequently diagnosticated in the United Kingdom, for instance. For this reason, information concerning this unknownpathology of sheep in Uruguay is also given.
