Abstract

Histological skin studies obtained by trephine, since birth to weaning, had been done in Corriedale lambs. Studies of follicular curvature radius, depth and density and secondary/primary follicle ratio have been made in vertical and horizontal sections. The follicle depth increases since birth (1.40 mm) to 91 days ofage (2.38 mm); this is the highest value in the animal's life. The follicular relationship secondary/primary was established in horizontal skin sections, finding a linear increment since birth (2.14) to 140 days old (7.17).
