Primer aislamiento e identificación del virus de la Rinotraqueítis infecciosa bovina en el Uruguay
Keywords:
Infectious diseases, Cattle, UruguayAbstract
Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis virus was recovered from the prepuce of a clinically healthy bovine carrying naturally acquired neutralizing antibodies to the virus following corticosteroid administrations. Virus was not detected in ocular nor in nasal secretions. The IBR virus isolated was identified by seroneutralization and direct fluorescent antibody techniques and by the cytopathic effect produced in tissue cultures. The possibility of inducing reativation of the IBR virus from a latent infected animal after administration of 0,11 mg/kg. of dexametasone during 5 days was confirmed.
