Peer review

Veterinaria (Montevideo) has a system of simple blind external arbitration (peer review). All papers received are evaluated by peers with recognized experience in the subject, given their background of publications in leading journals.

The papers received will first be reviewed by the Editorial Board, which will appoint two referees (reviewers) for evaluation and may give the following directives: accept them, return them to the authors for adequacy or reject them.

The Editorial Board may decide to return the manuscript to the authors for adaptation or even its final rejection if it considers that the manuscript is not suitable to be sent to reviewers.

Regardless of the author's request, the Editorial Board will classify the manuscripts received into: 1. Original Article, 2. Technical Note, 3. Review. Exceptionally, the journal will publish articles of special interest, which will be previously reviewed by the Editorial Board.
