Abstract

450 livers and duodena from slaughtered ovines were examined at the Matadero Municipal of Salto and it was found that 29.7 % of de livers and 32.8 % of the duodena had parasites of the Thysanosoma actinioides type. In conclusion, if only livers had been examined the existence of the parasites night have been underestimated since this type of parasite can be present in the duodenum and not in the liver.
