First application in Uruguay of insemination with frozen semen in goats

Abstract

During the month of September 1990, at establishment "Rincón de la Colorada" situated in the departament of Montevideo, that is dedicated to caprine managing, a buck sperm freezing method was performed, with later evaluation of some samples of the semen and artificial insemination (A. I.) by cervical deposition, constituting the first successful experience in this subject carried out in Uruguay. This leads the way into the development that is necessary in this discipline, moreover in a subject which is beginning to be esperimented in this country.
