Keywords:
IBR, Prevalence, ELISA, BovinesAbstract
The prevalence of IBR in dairy and beef cattle in Uruguay was assessed using an indirect ELISA test for the identification of circulating antibodies. It ranges between 45% and 48% with a confidence level of 95%. The high percentage of positive farms (75%-100%), as well as the prevalence index established, demonstrate that this disease is widely distributed in the country.
