Abstract

An operational plan for cattle tick eradication is presented. The eradication campaign is based on a coordinated and centrally planned programme with a strategy based on epidemiological surveillance, local and area quarantines and dipping of cattle or eviction of animals from grazing fields. These actions were initiated in the southernmost part of the affected area, moving forward in sectors, with the quarantine line running northwards.
