Abstract

The methodology to simplify the freezing-thawing and implantation method of bovine embryos is described. For freezing, a buffer solution (Dulbecco) with ethylene glycol as cryoprotectant is used, plus the addition of bovine serum albumin at 4% weight/volume. Defrosting is done 5 seconds in the air and then in a water bath at 25ºC for 20 seconds. The implantation is immediately carried out with extreme delicacy given the fragility of the biological material. The authors report 8 pregnancies out of 17 embryos implanted with this system, considering it satisfactory but perfectible.
