Abstract

Comminuted femoral fractures in canines are relatively common, presenting a challenge for the treating physician according to the number of fragments and their comminution. The objective of this study was to evaluate the behavior of a handmade external fixator, composed of 180 and 90 degree nylon rings, in 6 comminuted femur fractures and one case of osteomyelitis and to report the results obtained.
