Abstract

Forty species of helminths (trematodes, cestodes and nematodes) have been recorded parasitizing domestic ruminants in Uruguay. One of them (Fasciola hepatica) parasitizes cattle, sheep and goats, 14 species parasitize both cattle and sheep, 12 species have been recorded only in cattle, and 13 species only in sheep. Other taxa have been identified only at the genus level (three in cattle, one in sheep and eight in goats) and one at the subfamily level (in goats).
